My reborn process

Many people have asked me how these little ones come alive, let me take some time to tell you.
I use heat set paint on all my babies it is a oil based paint that will never chip fade or crack. I don't cut any corners on these little ones I use top of the line material such as angora mole hair for the babies hair, geniese Heat set paint, very find glass beads to weigh the baby to the perfect weight and so on.

1. I start with a warm bubble bath to get the vinyl nice and clean

2. Next I do a very light paint wash deepening on what color the kit.If the kit is very pink I will do a mint green wash. If it is two orange I will do a blue wash ect..... This wash just helps naturalize the vinyl

Then I but the baby in the oven to heat the Paint on

3. Next I paint on my vein on the forehead ,feet ,hands and knee. I will also add my blues between the eyes and at the temple of the face.

Then I heat again

4. Next I will put on my first flesh layer to get my base this if my lightest flesh layer I will apply.

Heat again

5. Then I will get a sea sponge if I am doing a newborn and start layering about 3 different flesh layers with the sponge to get that mottled baby look. I heat between each layer. I will do this Intel I get the look I want.

Heat again

6. Now I will add some color using my sea sponge I will blot on my blush colors very lightly to get a good base blush

Heat again

7. Now I will start my details I will blush my bottom of my feet, palms, hands, knees, lips, and checks. Then I will do my nails.

Heat again

8. Now I will look at it and see what needs to be done if if need more color I will add more color normally I always add more color to the checks bottom of feet, knees, elbows, ears, lips. Then I do my find detailing this is where I add any birth marks, scratches, milk spots, vein on the eyes, and so on

Heat again.

9. Now I will add a texture to make the baby look real and have no shine to it.

Bake for the last time.

10. Now I hand root the hair one at a time to get that real baby look, I also will root my eye lashes too. This take me about 2 or 3 full days to do depending on how much hair I want. Then I glue it on the inside to secure it. Let it sit over night.

11. Now I will add weight to the baby using glass beads and poly-fill. Once that is done I put the babies together and dresses the baby and Thai's it. I normally spend at least a full week on each baby just to make sure I'm not rushing anything and everything is perfect.
